C: Don't cut the worms in half.
W: Oh don't worry. A thin film will form around the exposed area and mitosis will occur, causing the worm to completely regenerate.
C: Yeah... well, just don't cut the worms in half.

W: Those tomatoes look like they're dying.
C: I reckon they just need some water and they'll be fine.
W: Did you know there are two different types of Root Systems: fibrous and taproot; the first is where....

Hands
When I was very little I had a kind of eczema that affected my fingers, made them constantly itch, raw, sting. The time it was worse I had to go to the Doctor and my right hand was bound up in white.
I think I remember it not so much because it hurt, but because I was very important then.

A half truth
One of these is true -
1) Today I woke up without having the thought "more sleep", opened the bright curtains for sunlight, then looked for awhile at someone in the mirror and thought she is beautiful

Hands
Perhaps a year before we moved and found a teacher, my mother's hands first guided mine on little keys, teaching me the simple songs she knew.

Hands
A long time ago, my five year old hands stole into those of Jesus and he has not let me go yet.

valse romantique
It strides around my head today, the opening notes repeating endlessly mmm da dah, mmm da dah. It is memorised, I am even picking up the picking up of playing from a random point within a phrase; it is almost printed on my mind, my fingers typing it out all Night, left hand mmm da dah, mmm da dah, right hand finally interskipping wistfully m-mm-mah, and what it means is you are never going to sleep never ever.
I am worried about performing wearing shoes. The last time I played with shoes on was I don't know when, and I could slip them off but would it be frowned upon?
It rained most of the night and melted into the freshest morning. It smells simple and feels right. Missy misses Miss Annie and stands by the old Barn. I'll take her an apple and cheer and then it's back to the Piano; I think I've been seized.

Comedies, tragedy and novel drama
Once I was talking with a friend, a girl who wrote stories. I never had a talent for writing fiction; she did and some she would ask me to read. I was delighted to. It was a new one we were discussing, one in the works, and we mulled over an ending. And somewhere in our talk, she told me what it was that gave her this idea. She told me what it was that brought forth a story.
She said, "This is going to sound weird... but I had a dusty golden yellow feeling."
For a moment it gave me pause, then a smile, the rarest kind of smile when you know that in the World there is at least one other who really knows; and is quite alright with sounding weird; and I knew that though my aureate feeling does not express in words necessarily as hers does, it is a sorta Fairytale, and if there is an ending it will certainly be all right.
Does that make sense?
**
We agreed that feeling calm is a honey color and dreaming is deep and blue. Worn gold sepia was friendship. But Love neither of us could describe. Love is so many different colours.

How times change
It was just a day or two over a year ago when I got this from Jessie, and I've just found it again - and I think sometimes "how I have changed so much over a year"... I'm rather curious if it is reflected in how I answered Questions. So if it will be tolerated, I will once more attempt this -

7. What's your favorite Christmas song?
My favorite is when of an evening in any season, I find in my white music book "chestnuts roasting on an open Fire", and my Dad, with all his opposition to Xmas, wanders over and sings the whole thing standing behind my shoulder.

A curiosity
You would think in all the time we've been cozy in
our passion for percentages and
serenely viewing these worn wheels
driving round, you would think
we would by now have found the time
to find the antidote
to that curious human propensity for
completely missing the point.

I don't know the why, when, or even what. But I know I wrote this.

We've run into a small obstacle
Olivia: "I'm really thinking I'm going to start a book club."
Christina: "Made up of?"
Olivia: "Well, me... and you...."
Christina: "But you don't like any of the books I read."
Silence
Olivia: "That's true."

Unremembered penance
Today I took up my Cross with full intention of sufferance complete - then, I leaned it for only a moment against my Spinet and positively forgot my Penitence.

A smile for tonight
Right now next to me is a deep, white cereal bowl and in that cereal bowl is a preposterously large amount of ice cream, whipped cream, bananas, caramel and pecans and I'm sorry, but I'm going to eat the whole thing.
Then I will read and sleep in my warm blanket, warm room, warm house. And tomorrow I shall achieve, conquer, continue.
Sweet dreams to everyone.
